Wonder Pick gets smarter: better drops and ownership tracking

Unobtained cards appear more often; see how many you own at a glance

Wonder Pick has always been the feature where luck meets the latest set—you spend a pick and hope for something you don’t have yet. In October 2025, Pokémon TCG Pocket made that hope a little more likely and a lot easier to act on. Two changes landed with the first anniversary update: unobtained cards from the latest expansion appear more often, and each card in a Wonder Pick now shows how many copies you currently own.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Wonder Pick improvements

Prioritizing what you don't have

The first change is under the hood: unobtained cards from the latest expansion are now more likely to show up in Wonder Pick. The game doesn’t guarantee you’ll get them—Wonder Pick is still a gamble—but the odds are tilted toward filling gaps in your collection for the newest set. So if you’re chasing the last few cards from Mega Rising (or whatever the current expansion is), Wonder Pick is a better tool than before.

Ownership counts on every card

The second change is visible: on each card in a Wonder Pick, the game now displays how many copies you own. So you’re not just seeing “this is a Dialga ex”—you’re seeing “this is a Dialga ex, and you have 0” or “you have 2.” That makes it easier to decide which pick to take when you’re trying to complete a set or avoid more duplicates. No more mental tallying; the game does it for you.

Why it matters for collectors

Wonder Pick has always been a key way to target specific sets and rarities. The October 2025 improvements didn’t change the cost or the structure—they made the feature smarter and more transparent. Better odds for missing cards plus clear ownership info mean less frustration and more informed choices. For collectors, that’s the kind of quality-of-life update that keeps the grind feeling fair.

Part of the first anniversary package

These updates went live on October 30, 2025, alongside the Share feature, expanded trading (including ★★ and Shiny 1–Shiny 2), and the Mega Rising expansion. Together, they reinforced the message: Pokémon TCG Pocket is built for collectors, and the first anniversary was about making the collecting experience better, one pick at a time.
