Celestial Guardians: Lunala ex and Solgaleo ex descend on Pokémon TCG Pocket
The Alola Legendaries headline a massive 182-card expansion with Crown Rares
Celestial Guardians launched on April 30, 2025, and it's big—182 unique cards (239 total) spread across two booster packs, making it one of the largest expansions in Pokémon TCG Pocket so far. The set is built around Lunala ex and Solgaleo ex, the Legendary Pokémon of Alola, and introduces Crown Rare versions of both.
Two booster packs, two legends
Following the dual-pack model of Genetic Apex and Space-Time Smackdown, Celestial Guardians splits its cards across the Lunala and Solgaleo booster packs. Each pack emphasizes its respective Legendary and the Pokémon that orbit around it. Lunala's pack leans into Psychic-type and nocturnal themes, while Solgaleo's pack favors Metal-type and solar energy.
Crown Rare Lunala ex and Solgaleo ex
The crown jewels of the set—literally—are the Crown Rare versions of Lunala ex and Solgaleo ex. These ultra-premium cards sit at the top of the rarity ladder, making them the most sought-after pulls in the expansion. If the Immersive Card chase defined Genetic Apex, Crown Rares define Celestial Guardians.
Alola's finest
The Alolan roster goes deep. Decidueye ex, Incineroar ex, and Primarina represent the Alola starter trio's final evolutions. Alolan Raichu ex brings a Psychic-type twist on a Kanto classic. Alolan Muk ex adds Darkness-type muscle, and Crabominable ex provides an Ice/Fighting option. Even Dhelmise ex, Wishiwashi ex, and Passimian ex get the spotlight—cards that reward players who look beyond the obvious headliners.
Shiny Stars return
Celestial Guardians also features Shiny Star (2-shiny-stars) rarity cards, pulling in shiny versions of popular ex Pokémon from earlier sets. Venusaur ex, Blastoise ex, Gengar ex, Machamp ex, Starmie ex, Exeggutor ex, Marowak ex, and Wigglytuff ex all appear in their shiny forms—a collector's dream for anyone chasing the complete catalog.
The Alola experience
Celestial Guardians is more than just a card set—it's Pokémon TCG Pocket's love letter to the Alola region. From the Legendary duo at its core to the deep roster of Alolan Pokémon and the premium Crown Rare tier, this expansion gives Alola the treatment it deserves. With 182 unique cards to collect across two booster packs, Trainers will be opening packs for weeks.
